Drifting the new shell. Engines breaking, and other sillyness?

After the 9 days of building, pat and I joined a bug group of Vancouver drivers in the treck to Victoria for a capital d drift event at westen speedway. We met up with Chris, Steve from oz designs, Peter from Neptune d, Kohei and even Doug Suen for some drifting fun.

After some warmup laps, the hatch was leaking some fluids. The brake fluid was a bit full, and the clutch hardline to slave line was slightly loose. Also the push lock hose on the turbo drain was leaking.

After tightening up those issues the car was running good.

Peter on the other hand melted his brake booster after 2 runs, which hurt his driving for the rest of the day.

During practice Doug went wide on a bank and hit a tire wall, doing a number on the side of his car.

During qualifying Chris qualified first, Trent second and Kohei third. We were dominating the event.

During the first tandem battle, Chris lost a cylinder, and then a lot of oil. This ended his runs for the day, we will now be sourcing a new sr for his corolla this week as he is competing in DMCC West on the 19th.

Steve also was having engine problems and had to end his day early due to his catch can filling up fast with oil.

For Kohei and Trent, the moved on to a final battle for first. Trent was having some issues with traction on a new tire, and passed the win to Kohei. Trent was second followed by our stunt driving friend Duane Dickenson.

After the event, we hit the bar, then got 2 rooms at a Traveller's Inn in Victoria. From there the night never really ended for some. That is a whole different story. :)
