Road to Seattle ProAm
Road to Seattle ProAm
I have decided to document the final few weeks leading up to the Formula D ProAm that Chris, Ian, and myself (Trent), will be driving at. We all have been preparing slowly and surely for the event, from buying the much needed safety equipment from places like Drivers Edge Autosports in Vancouver, to making our cars Formula D spec.
There has been a lot of time and money invested in the dreams we all share and the sport we love, drifting. But money is not all it takes. This journey I will take you on will cover what we have to do as a team to prep ourselves for the event. I will not cover car setups, except if there is a mishap, instead it's the mental and planning I will be covering.
Today is Monday, July 27th, the event officially begins in Thursday Aug 6th, as that is tech and setup night. Today we are meeting to discuss what is left for the team to do, where everyone stands for all their gear, and who will be pit crew. It may not seam like much, but there are 3 if us driving, and we will need to share crew members.
We also need to plan out the other things like where we are staying and who is coming for sure. Did I mention that we have to go 100 or so miles to get to the event, bringing tires, replacement parts and more with our racecars and a small truck. Fun.
