Chris Scremin

Chris’ relationship with drifting started with the purchase of his very first car in the summer of 2003. Although he initially wanted a 240sx, Chris settled for something that better fit the budget of a 17 year old high school student; a 1985 Corolla gts coupe. His first taste of drifting was a short one, though, as he managed to flip his car into a water filled ditch shortly after buying it. Frame damage, water damage, and a lack of money forced Chris to strip his beloved corolla to the bare chassis and sell everything. Luckily for Chris the experience of being underwater in an AE86 wasn’t enough to keep him away from drifting for long…

Fast forward to 2006…

After spending a couple years modifying boring cars and autocrossing them, it was time for Chris to return to an FR chassis. Although his first experience with an AE86 was less than enjoyable, he couldn’t pass up the oppertunity to purchase what would become his next drift car, a clean zenki AE86 hatchback.

Chris met Trent and Ian in the summer of 2006 at Formula D seattle and, being interested in taking drifting off the street, signed up for the inaugural Cell Block D. After his first organized drift event, Chris was hooked, and has since spent as much time as possible building his car and drifting whenever he can.

The 2009 season has been an exciting one for Chris, after a busy off season that involved a full roll cage build on top of multiple other modifications and repairs. Since placing 5th at round 1 of the Evergreen drift series (his first competition ever), Chris has made the final in every competition he has entered, including 3 1st place finishes and a 2nd place finish at round 1 of the Drift Mania Canadian Championships. Chris is determined to push himself and his car to the limit, and will continue to compete at the highest level possible.
